Mersmak i Skien – Norway
Mersmak is a large food festival in a town called Skien in Telemark, Norway. The festival is on the last weekend of August every year, on Friday and Saturday.
For the last few years the sun has been shining and both days have been a huge success with more than 10 000 visitors, which is a lot in a small country like Norway.
There are more than 100 stalls there, and they sell everything from spring rolls to olive oil, chocolate and traditional Norwegian baked goods. When it comes to the hot food, most stalls offer take away so that you could either have dinner at home or eat somewhere else in the area.
There’s not a lot more to say about this festival, but I decided to write about it to make more people aware of it. If you’re in the area I definitely recommend that you go. Make sure you arrive hungry!
