I had always wanted to try some of the themed restaurants Asia is known for while there, but never had the oppurtunity. When I went to Bangkok a while ago, I decided that this was my time. Of course that meant I had to visit the “almost so cute it’s embarrassing” Hello Kitty Café, which is centrally located in Siam Square 1.
The first thing you’ll notice when entering the café is that everything is pink. And I do mean EVERYTHING. Every little girl’s paradise, I assume, but there were surprisingly many grown ups there as well.
As I was there on a pretty hot day, I didn’t feel like having cake, but they did look tempting. However, I ordered a small portion of fries and lemon iced tea. The fries were surprisingly tasty, and were served with one Hello Kitty frie, as it should be in a true themed restaurant! The iced tea was served in an adorable Hello Kitty tumbler, that I was allowed to bring back home.
The menu, receipt and napkins also matched the theme perfectly.
I regret that I didn’t wear a pink dress and had a pink bow in my hair to match the theme completely, but still had a very enjoyable experience. The food was descent, the service good and everybody around me were happy and smiling – I honestly think it might be impossible not to!
